About the Vostro

Vostro laptops sit between Inspiron and Latitude: sensible, upgradeable machines bought by small businesses and sole traders. Most accept more memory and a larger SSD without difficulty.

Every repair starts with a free assessment and a fixed price. Nothing is done until you approve it, and repairs carry a 3-month warranty.

Screens

We replace cracked and faulty Vostro screens with a panel matched to the original size, resolution and connector.

Batteries

The battery sits inside the case and is held by screws. We fit the correct part number and check that it charges and reports properly.

Keyboards and trackpads

The keyboard is fixed into the palm rest, so the two are replaced together as a top case. Trackpads are replaced separately.

Charging and power

Depending on the model, charging is through a DC socket or USB-C. Either port can be replaced, and charging circuits are repaired on the board.

Motherboard and liquid damage

No power, no display and liquid damage are repaired at component level wherever parts are available, instead of replacing the whole board.

Upgrades

Memory and storage are both accessible on most Vostro models, so SSD and RAM upgrades are straightforward.

Sending your Vostro

Turn the laptop over. The model is printed on the base, for example "Latitude 5440" or "Inspiron 15 3520". Send us that with a description of the fault and we reply with a price, normally the same working day.

Common questions

Can you repair several Vostro laptops for a business?

Yes. Tell us how many and what is wrong with each, and we arrange one collection. Company laptops are usually encrypted, so ask your IT department for the BitLocker recovery key first.

Will a repair affect the data or the company set-up?

No. We do not wipe or reinstall anything without asking. Most hardware repairs leave Windows and your files exactly as they were.
