Cracked or broken laptop screen
A crack, a spreading black blotch, coloured lines or a touchscreen that has stopped responding. Screens are one of the more predictable repairs: the right panel, fitted properly, and the laptop is back to normal.

What has actually broken
A laptop display is a thin glass sandwich. Pressure on the lid, something left on the keyboard when the lid was closed, or a drop is enough to crack the inner layer. The damage shows as lines, blotches that look like spilt ink, or a picture on only part of the screen.
On touchscreen and 2-in-1 laptops the glass you touch is bonded to the display underneath, so the two are normally replaced together as one assembly. If the picture is perfect on an external monitor, the rest of the laptop is fine and only the screen needs attention.
Matching the right screen
The same laptop model is often sold with several different screens. We match the replacement to the one fitted to yours: size, resolution, panel type, refresh rate, finish and connector. A gaming laptop with a 144Hz panel gets a 144Hz panel back, not a cheaper 60Hz one that happens to fit.
Standard screens
The panel is removed from the lid and a matching one fitted, with the lid and bezel checked for damage.
Touchscreens and 2-in-1s
Bonded glass and display assemblies are replaced as a unit and the touch layer tested.
Lids and bezels
Cracked surrounds and damaged hinges can be repaired at the same time.
Common questions
Can I keep using it with a cracked screen?
You can plug in an external monitor or TV and carry on working. Avoid pressing on the damaged area: cracks spread, and on touchscreens the broken glass can cut.
Is it safe to send a laptop with a broken screen by courier?
Yes. Put a sheet of paper or thin card between the keyboard and the screen, close the lid and pack it as shown in our packing guide.
How do I know the price before I send it?
Give us the model number and whether it is a touchscreen. For most models we can price the screen before the laptop leaves you.
