Confidentiality and data protection
Sending someone a drive means trusting them with everything on it. This page sets out who we are and how your data is handled.

Who is handling your data
Data recovery on this website is carried out by Creative IT (UK) Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05022253, trading from Unit 1, 80 Willow Walk, London SE1 5SY since 2004.
The company is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner's Office. The registration number is ZA060744, and it can be checked on the public register at ico.org.uk.
How your data is handled
Only what the job needs
We open files only as far as is necessary to confirm that the recovery has worked.
Work on a copy
Recovery is carried out on an image of your drive, kept on our own systems for the duration of the job.
No sharing
Your data is not passed to anyone else, except where the law requires it.
Deleted afterwards
Working copies are deleted once the job is complete and you have confirmed that you have your files.
Your drive returned
The original device goes back to you, or is securely disposed of at your request.
Insured transport
Devices travel by insured, tracked courier.
For businesses
If the drive holds personal data about your customers or staff, you remain the data controller and we act on your instructions as a processor for the duration of the recovery. If your organisation needs a confidentiality agreement or a written record of how the data was handled, ask when you get in touch.
Our privacy policy covers the personal details we hold about you as a customer.
Common questions
Is my data sent to another company?
No. Recovery is carried out in our own workshop in London.
How long do you keep the recovered data?
Only until the job is complete and you have confirmed that you have your files.
