Desktop PC repairs

Tower PCs, all-in-ones and gaming rigs: no power, no picture, crashes, noisy fans and upgrades. Brought to the workshop or sent by courier with a little extra care.

What goes wrong with desktops

Desktops are simpler to repair than laptops because the parts are separate and standard. A PC that is completely dead usually has a failed power supply. One that starts but shows nothing usually has a graphics card, memory or motherboard fault. Each can be tested by substitution and replaced on its own.

All-in-one PCs are the exception. They are built like large laptops, with model-specific screens, boards and power supplies, and are repaired the same way.

Sending a desktop by courier

  • Contact us first. Desktops are heavy and need a stronger box and more padding than a laptop.
  • On gaming PCs, a large graphics card can break its slot in transit. We may ask you to remove it and pack it separately, or to pad inside the case.
  • Send the tower only. We do not need the monitor, keyboard or mouse unless they are part of the fault.
  • If you are within reach of London SE1, bringing it in is often simpler.

Common questions

Is an older desktop worth repairing?

Frequently. An SSD and extra memory transform a PC that is otherwise sound, and standard parts keep costs down.

Do you repair custom-built gaming PCs?

Yes. Tell us the parts list if you have it, and what the PC does when it fails.

Get a price from a technician

Tell us the make, the model and what has gone wrong. A technician replies with a price and the quickest way to get your laptop to us – normally the same working day.
