What happens in the workshop
Sending a laptop away takes some trust. This is what happens to yours from the moment the courier hands it over to the moment it comes back.

From arrival to return
- Arrival. The laptop is unpacked, checked against your note and logged with your contact details.
- Assessment. A technician reproduces the fault, then traces it. Power faults are measured on the bench; drives and memory are tested; the laptop is opened where needed.
- Your quote. We contact you with what has failed, what the repair involves and one fixed price.
- Your decision. Approve it and we start. Decline and the laptop is returned to you. There is no charge for the assessment of a laptop repair.
- Repair. Parts are fitted or the board is repaired at component level. If we find something unexpected, we stop and ask before going further.
- Testing. The repaired laptop is run and tested, including the fault you reported.
- Return. It is packed and sent back by courier. The repair carries a 3-month warranty.
How long does it take?
It depends on the fault and on parts. Many repairs are completed the day the laptop is assessed when the part is in stock. Board-level and liquid damage repairs take longer, and unusual parts may need ordering.
We give you a realistic timescale with the quote, and we would rather tell you three days and take two than the other way round. If you have a deadline, say so at the start.
Who does the work
Repairs are carried out in our own workshop at Willow Walk in Bermondsey, London SE1. Creative IT has been repairing computers since 2004, for home users, businesses and schools. When you call with a question about your repair, you can speak to a technician.
Get a price from a technician
Tell us the make, the model and what has gone wrong. A technician replies with a price and the quickest way to get your laptop to us – normally the same working day.
