About the ThinkPad P series

P series workstations handle engineering and creative workloads. The larger models are modular, with several memory slots and drive bays. The P1 and P14s are thin designs with less room to work in.

Every repair starts with a free assessment and a fixed price. Nothing is done until you approve it, and repairs carry a 3-month warranty.

Screens

We replace cracked and faulty ThinkPad P series screens with a panel matched to the original size, resolution and connector.

Batteries

The battery sits inside the case and is held by screws. We fit the correct part number and check that it charges and reports properly.

Keyboards and trackpads

Depending on the model, the keyboard is replaced on its own or together with the palm rest. Trackpads are replaced separately.

Charging and power

Depending on the model, charging is through a DC socket or USB-C. Either port can be replaced, and charging circuits are repaired on the board.

Motherboard and liquid damage

No power, no display and liquid damage are repaired at component level wherever parts are available, instead of replacing the whole board.

Upgrades

Upgrade options vary across the ThinkPad P series range: some models have memory slots, others are soldered. We check yours before quoting.

Cooling

Fans and heatsinks are cleaned, thermal compound renewed and worn fans replaced. Performance laptops benefit most from regular cooling service.

Sending your ThinkPad P series

On the base you will find the model name and a machine type. ThinkPads show a type such as "20W0" or "21HD". IdeaPad, Yoga and Legion models show a code such as "82H8" beside a name like "IdeaPad 3 15ITL6". Send us that with a description of the fault and we reply with a price, normally the same working day.

Do you repair graphics and power faults on ThinkPad P workstations?

Yes, at component level where parts are available. The laptop is tested under sustained load before it is returned.

Will a repair affect my software set-up?

No. We do not wipe or reinstall anything without asking. Most hardware repairs leave your system exactly as it was.
