About the ThinkPad L and E series

L and E series ThinkPads cost less than a T series and are bought in large numbers by schools and small firms. They remain practical to repair and, on most models, to upgrade.

Every repair starts with a free assessment and a fixed price. Nothing is done until you approve it, and repairs carry a 3-month warranty.

Screens

We replace cracked and faulty ThinkPad L and E series screens with a panel matched to the original size, resolution and connector.

Batteries

The battery sits inside the case and is held by screws. We fit the correct part number and check that it charges and reports properly.

Keyboards and trackpads

Depending on the model, the keyboard is replaced on its own or together with the palm rest. Trackpads are replaced separately.

Charging and power

These charge over USB-C. Worn or damaged ports are replaced on the board, and USB-C charging circuits are repaired at component level.

Motherboard and liquid damage

No power, no display and liquid damage are repaired at component level wherever parts are available, instead of replacing the whole board.

Upgrades

Upgrade options vary across the ThinkPad L and E series range: some models have memory slots, others are soldered. We check yours before quoting.

Sending your ThinkPad L and E series

On the base you will find the model name and a machine type. ThinkPads show a type such as "20W0" or "21HD". IdeaPad, Yoga and Legion models show a code such as "82H8" beside a name like "IdeaPad 3 15ITL6". Send us that with a description of the fault and we reply with a price, normally the same working day.

Common questions

Can you repair several ThinkPad L and E laptops for a business?

Yes. Tell us how many and what is wrong with each, and we arrange one collection. Company laptops are usually encrypted, so ask your IT department for the BitLocker recovery key first.

Will a repair affect the data or the company set-up?

No. We do not wipe or reinstall anything without asking. Most hardware repairs leave Windows and your files exactly as they were.
