About the Legion and LOQ

Legion laptops are well regarded for cooling, but dust still builds up and thermal compound still ages. Memory and storage are accessible on most models. High-refresh screens are matched to the original.

Screens

Gaming panels are matched by refresh rate as well as size and resolution, so a 144Hz or 165Hz screen is replaced with the same.

Batteries

The battery sits inside the case and is held by screws. We fit the correct part number and check that it charges and reports properly.

Keyboards and trackpads

The keyboard is fixed into the palm rest, so the two are replaced together as a top case. Trackpads are replaced separately.

Charging and power

Loose or broken DC charging sockets are replaced, and charging circuit faults are repaired on the motherboard.

Motherboard and liquid damage

No power, no display and liquid damage are repaired at component level wherever parts are available, instead of replacing the whole board.

Upgrades

Memory and storage are both accessible on most Legion and LOQ models, so SSD and RAM upgrades are straightforward.

Cooling

Fans and heatsinks are cleaned, thermal compound renewed and worn fans replaced. Performance laptops benefit most from regular cooling service.

On the base you will find the model name and a machine type. ThinkPads show a type such as "20W0" or "21HD". IdeaPad, Yoga and Legion models show a code such as "82H8" beside a name like "IdeaPad 3 15ITL6". Send us that with a description of the fault and we reply with a price, normally the same working day.

My Legion laptop runs hot and loud. Is that normal?
